Insights + resourcesWhat does employee development look like at Silverfin?
The world of working has altered since the pandemic and so too has the need for a shift in what employee development plans look like and how they are deployed.
Stefaan Arryn, VP of People at cloud accounting platform Silverfin, believes the ability to let employees work from home is no longer a unique selling point, but is instead a commodity.
“The world has become smaller and companies have enlarged their talent pools because they have learned that much can be done perfectly from a distance,” says Arryn. “This means there are many more remote-functions and the competition to attract the right candidate for these functions has become greater.”
Here, Arryn shares three key parts of Silverfin’s employee development plan:
- We organise initiatives on a company level for certain groups of our employees like amongst others new joiners, managers and sales.
- Managers arrange other initiatives for employees in their team. These are at individual or collective level and are deemed necessary to help them do their job even better.
- An individual training budget of €1,000 is available so employees can sign up to training to strengthen their labour market position in our type of business. The training topics can be very broad and therefore beyond the requirements needed to fulfil their current role.
