Techspace signs historic piano factory as third location in Berlin
Opening in 2025, Techspace secures contract with project development company, INCEPT GmbH
Techspace updatesThe Berlin project development company INCEPT successfully concluded a contract for the complete letting of the commercial property at Dieffenbachstraße 33 with the London-based coworking provider Techspace. Located in Kreuzberg, in the heart of Berlin, across 4,500 square meters of rentable space, the historic building will soon be the home to an array of pioneering Techspace members from the tech industry. The lease was successfully brokered by the estate agent Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL).
The U-shaped main building was constructed at the end of the 19th century and is one of the last remaining commercial courtyards in the popular Graefekiez. The planning for the fundamental refurbishment of the building is based on a design by Berlin architect Julian Breinersdorfer, who succeeds brilliantly in celebrating Berlin's history, but at the same time transforming the building into a modern, urban office construction. Historic brickwork with typical yellow and red clinker facades will merge with light and modern glass additions to create an inspiring working atmosphere.
The total of six floors of the main building, complemented by a coach house, will allow for all forms of modern working. The inner courtyards will be redesigned with plenty of greenery and offer the future members of Techspace a refuge in the middle of Berlin. A special highlight will be the roof terrace of the main building, which will offer an impressive far-reaching view over the vibrant metropolis.
For many, Kreuzberg embodies the epitome of what makes the capital city so attractive - both for working and living. Here, the cultural scene meets tech start-ups, cozy cafés and individual bars line up next to each other, boutiques invite you to stroll, you can shop at weekly markets and relax on numerous green spaces. Right in the middle, in the beautiful Graefekiez, is Dieffenbachstraße 33, an attractive urban quarter that combines living and working. Techspace members will be able to walk a few steps to work, cycle or conveniently take public transport.
For Techspace, Dieffenbachstraße 33 will be it’s third shared workspace location for high-growth and technology-oriented companies in Berlin. The preparation of the construction work is already in full swing. The building is scheduled to open in early 2025.
